A vile paedo has been spared jail after cops found a mutilated toddler sex doll wearing a Peppa Pig onesie in his bed.
Twisted Paul Mason, 43, was hauled away in cuffs after officers found the sex toy near a pile of baby clothes and a hard drive stuffed with indecent images.
The bungling nonce's Elswick lair was raided by detectives after he accidentally shared a child abuse image on Facebook.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how one of his 75 sickening pictures even showed a child being raped.
But he was sentenced to just 20 weeks behind bars with the jail term suspended for eighteen months.
When confronted with the damning evidence, the perv told officers he had "got carried away" while downloading pictures.
He tried to play off the doll - which had a hole cut into the genital area - as for "daftness".
Prosecutor Barry Robson said: "A headless, toddler-sized doll was found in the defendant's bed.
"The doll was dressed in tights and a Peppa Pig baby grow. The doll had a cut in the genital area."
Judge Julie Clemitson told Mason: "There were a number of items recovered from your home which demonstrate an unhealthy interest in very young children."
"There was clothing suitable for babies, nappies, some of which had been stuffed in order to give them form and in the bed there was a headless child doll wearing children's clothing."
Admitting that Mason's doll fetish was technically "lawful', she added, "it certainly crossed into a sexual interest in children, hence the images."
Mason has been in no trouble since the offenses and claims to have a history of mental health problems as well as drug and alcohol misuse.
The court heard how he can be "trusted' to cooperate with authorities in the future".
He was told to abide by a sexual harm prevention order and forced to sign the sex offenders register for seven years.
