A sex robot company assured people that its dolls are anti-bacterial in a not-really-safe-for-work Instagram post Thursday amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Self isolating doesn’t have to be the worst!” Abyss, the company behind RealDoll, wrote. “All Real Dolls are made from Platinum Grade Silicone and are naturally antibacterial and nonporous!”
The ad was clearly targeted at the many people who may be feeling lonely during social distancing and quarantine as the world combats COVID-19. Abyss included a link to purchase its product in the post.
New York and California were among the states telling people to stay at home in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus.
Worldwide, more than 275,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus, with the majority of the cases now coming outside of China, where the virus originated. Nearly 11,500 people have died from COVID-19 as of Friday night, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins.
